There'll be another update from the homeland coming soon, I promise, but it's late right now and I just wanted to share this: I was at a used-DVD store tonight (with the fine Mr. Mowrer) and looking at a right-wing screed called "FahrenHYPE 9/11." Get it? Anyway, among the people in this thing are Ann Coulter. Her books are namechecked, but, in defiance of Messrs. Strunk and White, the titles are not italicized or underlined, so it reads, "Ann Coulter, writer of Treason and Slander..."

Truer words were never spoken.

In other news, this has to be a joke. It has to:

"The (Mac) Mini boots up into a stripped-down operating system which Apple calls OS X, similar to the stripped-down WindowsCE OS found on many handhelds...When I consider that a good deal of my time is spent running applications like Disk Defragmenter, Scandisk, Norton AV, Windows Update and Ad-Aware--none of which are available for the Mac platform--it doesn't make sense for me to "switch" to a Mac at this time"

Or maybe not:

"Jorge Lopez is a DeVry graduate..."

He's not a big fan of the mini, but then again... Besides Christian, would any of be in the first place?

yeah yeah yeah... They're cute... I have a soundcard that has an external component that's larger than that thing.

Yes, it was a parody. For some commentary, go to:,2084543,2084543

There's some funny stuff on "I liked the building a computer for my grandma" article.

Macs will take over the earth! Steve Jobs is the Messiah!
