And while we're on the subject, why not check out some Gorillaz fan videos?

These are surprisingly well-done, and they bring up an interesting question: Even though Gorillaz are the creation of Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, they're cartoons, so what's to stop them from becoming the first "open source" band? Discuss.

Well, the problem I see is that anyone with the right talent (not me) can draw something that looks like the band for a video, but very few people can make the music in the style.

Plus... Mito Hatori. She's just got a kick ass voice!

I don't know that that's true (about the style; I totally agree about Mito Hatori). We've had two "real" albums by two different producers, and in between were two remix albums. I could see someone assembling a song from some original music and a few samples, throw in a rap (say it's another of Russel's ghosts), and then if you animate the video well enough, it would be virtually indistinguishable from the "real" thing.

Hmm...have I told you guys about my idea for "The Pixxels?"

You've not told me, and really, that's who matters.

Hey! I matter too! Tell us about the Pixxels Richmond!

It's okay, guys...neither of you matter.
